Delivery Bicycle as a pilot started at Albert Heijn

Bringing the groceries with a delivery bicycle around in the center of Amsterdam.

It is initially a pilot.
Pizzas, sushi and packets are currently in Amsterdam already delivered by bicycle. Starting to day, a portion of the inhabitants receives also groceries delivered at home by bicycle.

The bike can carry thirty full groceries crates.
The bicycle deliveryman fills in a warehouse on the outskirts of the city his bike with the groceries and then drive into town.

With the electric power assist he can easily maneuver.
Automobiles can easily pass the delivery bike and that promotes good flow of traffic in the busy center.

Albert Heijn started with one bike and wants to drive tens of delivery bikes in Amsterdam later this year.

Albert Heijn will make more environmentally friendly home delivery.
In addition to the bicycle test Albert Heijn is testing in Amsterdam also an electric delivery vehicle.
